Need to Know
Comes standard with Merv-11 filter (compare to Merv-8 or only pre-filter). This means when it is installed in an encapsulated crawl space you will get 12 to 18 months out of your filter (after the initial change at 6 months).

Did the other company tell you that the quality of filtration you have on your dehumidifier will determine how often you will have to take it apart to clean the coils? Dehumidifiers on the market today that use only a pre-filter will require you take the unit apart every 6 months to clean the coils. They won't tell you that, but it's in the their manual. Ever smelled a window air conditioner in an old motel? It smells musty, that is because there is mold or mildew growth on the cooling coils.

I have purchased these units for three of my houses and have been happy with the units, the company and the shipping arrangements. I have recommended this product to many people.

I have installed the dehumidifier into a 1850 sq.ft. crawl that was sealed in 2008 I had to also installed a radon emitting system. The Air Plus was a easy job to work into the crawl. I found the instructions easy to follow and helpful. This litte work horse really does the job it was built to do, and I would recommend it anyone in the market for a crawl or basement dehumidifier.

The compact air unit was easy to install with the provided hanger installation kit. I used pvc pipe to drain it into my house drainage system. It is fairly quiet and I can barely hear it running when it is quiet in the house. It does not come on too often and seems to be keeping the crawl space dry. This summer will be the real test when the humidity increases. I do need to keep the humidity setting lower so the farther away areas of the crawl space stay dry. Great unit for the price.

Rating Perfect Product!
Over the winter I encapsulated roughly 2,200 square feet of crawl space following the guidance and resources provided Crawl Space Repair. The final addition of the Compact Air Plus was the capstone to the project. The product is working flawlessly and managing this controlled space with little effort at this point. Excellent design and extremely quite operation. I would certainly recommend this product at this point!

I installed this unit five weeks ago in a newly installed 20 mil silver back crawl space containment which previously had moisture reading above 19% in the joist and very sick condition. The readings have been monitored every week and have dropped 1% each week. The unit was very easy to install with all the included hardware. It is very quiet and has very low amp draw set to come on when the humidity is above 56%. I have been a customer with crawlspace 5 years

Rating Powerful little unit, very quiet
Set up in a damp crawlspace of a 115 year old cottage. No liners in place and the floor was mostly dirt, this little dehumidifier began extracting water immediately and within 2-3 days was cycling on and off instead of running continuous. I am not 90% done with encapsulating the basement so it only runs every so often to test the humidity level. The mounting straps worked nicely the whole hook up kit was great (only needed to make an adapter to tie into drain pipe). When running the unit is barely perceptible on the floor above, quieter than the fridge or other applicances. Have recommended to others

Rating Great purchase and good value
It was fairly easy to hang it with the included joist kit. I ran it on the first floor for the first week to see how it worked and it wasn't overly loud. It wasn't whisper quiet but for what it is doing, I don't think it was overly loud either. It really dried out the air to the percentage that I selected. Once it got to that level, it barely ran it all. Now, that is in the crawlspace, the house has to be really really quiet for me to hear it cycle on and off and that is only because I am trying to listen for it.

Rating Compact Air Plus Dehumidifer
I installed a Compact Air Plus Dehumidifer a few weeks ago in our cabin in Ninilchik, Alaska. The humidity is quite high during the summer rainy season. My crawl space was incapsulated but still had humidity levels very high due probably to leaks in the plastic sheeting and from condensation on water lines from the outside well and other plumbing lines. This unit was easy to install and worked perfectly to quickly bring the humidity to 55%. I can hear the unit start and stop but the noise level is very low. It runs for about 4 minutes then shuts off for about 20 minutes to maintain this level. It's a nice unit and appears to be well made with a stainless steel outer shell.

Rating Quiet Dehumidifier
It is so quiet, I have been under twice just to make sure it was working! There is no noise in the house. The dampness on the insulation batting is gone, smell is gone, standing water on the rubber sheathing lining the floor is gone. I am very satisfied with both the dehumidifier and the results.

Rating Unit For Guest House
We use this dehumidifier in our guest house where we installed the moisture barrier over the ground and a 4 smooth concrete floor on top of that in the crawl space. We previously had another major brand of a specialty crawl space dehumidifier. This unit works much better and the filter system is top notch. Very happy with the product. Fast shipping and communication from the company. If I ever need anything else for the crawl space this is the company I will call.

I sealed all 18 of the vent openings in my crawl space and installed the 12-mil Guardian liner on the floor, running it up the interior walls for approximately 8-inches and also wrapping all of the concrete block pillars up to their full height, approximately 36-inches. A three inch layer of spray foam was then applied to the rim joist and interior of the concrete block walls, extending down over the Guardian liner and onto the floor for a few inches at the wall/floor interface. After that installation was complete, I monitored the RH for a few weeks using an Acu.Rite hygrometer w/Remote. The RH was still higher than I wanted, so I then installed the Compact Air Plus CAP-200, with the drain line running into a 3/4-inch hole bored into the square end fitting of the PVC sewer line. Installing the CAP-200 by suspending it from the overhead joists was straight forward. The RH dropped by 20 percentage points with the dial set at 55%. I was concerned that the CAP-200 might generate too much noise in the first floor living areas. Not so, the refrigerator makes more noise and there is no insulation installed on the overhead of the crawl space. I highly recommend the CAP-200.

The compact air plus is a quality product that has reduced the humidity in my crawl space from an average of 90-95 percent to 50-55 percent. I do not know what the energy savings are yet, but the air conditioner runs less and I have turned up the thermometer 3 degrees due to less humidity. I encapsulated my crawl space using all of the products purchased from Crawl space vapor barrier. It went from a foot of water with a heavy rain fall to 50-55 percent of humidity. I did all of the labor and installation myself with no assistance. I am not experienced in this line of work, although I am an electrician. With the availability of the products, I spent $3000 instead of the $14000 that a contractor quoted!

Installed as directed. Machine hanging from floor joists under bedroom makes for a disturbing night of sleep. I would recommend setting on concrete blocks if near a quiet area. Moisture is removed, but make sure drain lines are ending down hill. A little moisture backing up in line may cause machine to leak near 3/4 fitting on drain side. Jumping through hoops to get the extended warranty may cause you spend the price of a machine to install the expensive vapor and supplies Crawlspace Concepts LLC.

Rating No complaints - good dehumidifier
After 6 months, I'm very happy with the Compact Air Plus dehumidifier. I installed it in our 1600 sq ft crawlspace using the rubber hanging straps. It's right below our den, but we never hear it or feel any vibrations. And it is doing its job drying out the crawlspace. I would definitely buy again.

Rating Musty Odor is Gone
We had an extremely wet spring this year and I had a strong musty odor coming up from the air returns into my home. The inside humidity rose to 81%. I contacted a contractor who happened to do work in a house with an encapsulated crawl space and thought it would be a good solution for me. Since encapsulating my crawl space and installing a dehumidifier and one fan, the humidity in my crawl space has dropped to a perfect 45% and the temperature is staying about 70 degrees. After just about one month, this seems to be a very good solution. The humidity inside my home is back to normal and the musty odor is completely gone.

Rating My installation experience
I installed this unit on9/17/12 in my crawl where I have an Oregon Scientific hygrometer which read 86% humidity. At that time the walls and dirt floor were uncovered. BY the next day it read 67%. I have since covered the crawl with 12 mil vapor barrier and now (10/29) it stays about48% and rarely runs at all. I'm very pleased with it but found that the hardware for hanging from floor joists was poor. I broke off a lag bolt even with predrilling the hole and found that the screws to secure the unit to the hanger were too short.

Installed the dehu about a month ago, working perfect, crawl space is staying between 45-48%. The unit runs very little now that it is dried out. Also installe the piggy-back condensate pump and ran the hose into the garage to a drain. Excellent products from an excellent company!
